About Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy at Advantage Brain & Trauma focuses on restoring the functional abilities patients need to perform their jobs and manage daily activities after injury. Our registered and licensed occupational therapists specialize in upper extremity rehabilitation, fine motor skills, cognitive retraining, and work simulation.
For workers' compensation patients, OT is particularly valuable because it directly addresses job-specific tasks. Our therapists analyze the physical and cognitive demands of each patient's occupation, then design treatment programs that simulate real work activities — from keyboard use and tool handling to lifting techniques and assembly tasks.
Occupational therapy also addresses the cognitive and perceptual challenges that often accompany brain injury, including attention, memory, problem-solving, and visual-spatial skills. Our OTs work closely with neuropsychologists and speech therapists to deliver coordinated cognitive rehabilitation.
